New house, new books written, Thirities party

Hello everyone,

You may recall that my son and his wife recently came through a tornado in their little town. They are my webmasters, so my blog has been unavailable for a bit of time. I'm happy to say that they've moved to a new home (one with a mom-requested basement-Yay!) and a lot more room and everything is up and running again. Happier son, happier daughter-in-law, happier moms and dads.

I have another medical manuscript under consideration and am fiendishly working away on my time travel novel which will be set in ancient Scotland. I'm having way too much fun doing the research and am amazed to find the Picts are much more advanced than anyone believed. You know the blue paint on their faces? In Mel Gibson's movie it was paint and the Picts sort of resembled berserkers. Recently far more information has come to light on the Picts and it seems they were far more civilized than previously thought with the blue being intricate tattoos and their artwork in stone being nothing less than amazing. Here are some good links: Pict's drink-Heatherale.co.uk Picts and Pictish language: an article by Cyril Babe Picts-Catriona Fraser: Photograph of the Sunhoney Stone Circle Picts-http://www.scotsplacenames.com/page2.html Picts UCSC Genome Browser Home Picts-genome.gov The Large-Scale Genome Sequencing Program Pict-genome.gov Online Education Kit: Understanding the Human Genome Project

On another note, Joe and I are heading out tonight to our local writer's chapter Member Appreciation evening. It promises to be a good one. The theme is the thirties and some of us are dressing accordingly. We are meeting at one of Phoenix's historical mansions--the Wrigley Mansion and yes, they are the Wrigley's of the gum fame. It's very posh and has gorgeous views of the Phoenix/Scottsdale metro area all way around the dining room. You can just bet that about six months to a year from now several novels will come out that somehow include this marvelous landmark in them. :-) Wish you all could be there with us. Talk to you again soon.

~~Susan

PS. and don't forget, you can sign up for one of my novels by sending me an email from my site with Book Contest in the subject line
